Issa Mas is a born and bred New Yorker in the midst of her next big adventure, Single Mommyhood! This Single Mama is busy trying to balance raising her five year old, a career as a freelance writer, and staying sane, all at the same time.
Issa is a native New Yorker but an advocate for single moms everywhere. As a single parent life coach, Issa offers support to newly single parents facing a myriad of feelings and challenges, as well as to veteran single parents who may have hit a bump in their roads. Issa began blogging about her journey as a single mom in 2007 and must be doing something right: this blog was named "Best Single Mommy Blog" of 2009 by TheBump.com, and was also voted into the "Top 25 Single Parenting Blogs" of 2011 and 2012 on CircleofMoms.com, as well as being featured in major newspapers in both New York City and Chicago.
A passion for writing began early for Issa and she was presented her first award for a piece of her writing at only 7 years old by then-New York City Mayor Edward Koch, as a city-wide winner of a poetry contest. Issa is a life coach, a published essayist, a NY Daily News featured blogger, writer of children's books for her son, and founder of Your Single Parenting, a resource website inclusive of all single parents.
