Sick And The Single Mom

I've said it many times, being sick (and having a mouse in the house) are the only two times I'm less then happy about being a single mom. It's bad enough to not have anyone to take care of you when you're sick, but to have to get up and care for your small child while feeling like utter crap, well, it's a very lonely feeling. It's funny because it's the only time I ever feel lonely. With my son, my family, and my friends in my life, there's no time to feel lonely. There's something about not having someone in your home to care for you and your kid while you're sick that makes you feel very alone.

Tonight, I am feeling sorry for myself. You all know that very rarely happens, but hey, I'm human.

If you're sick and feeling miserable, I understand. Sometimes this life of ours can be a difficult one. Just know that you are a rock star. Know how I know? Because anyone who is so sick they can barely get out of bed, but somehow manages to feed children, change diapers, and keep one eye open so that the little ones aren't getting into any trouble, well, that person is a flippin' rock star.

Feel better soon, Rock Star.

I totally know what you mean! I'm a single mom to 2 children. I rarely feel sorry for myself, but it does hit me pretty hard when 1) I'm sick, 2) something needs fixing in my house that I can't take care of myself and 3) I just bought a bunch of groceries and there's no one to help bring the heavy bags in! We are rock stars and superheroes for all that we do. Hope you're feeling better!
