Clean Out Your Closets And Help Homeless NYC Mothers & Their Children

Photo Credit: Emily Lucima / Stock Xchng
National Clean Out Your Closet week starts this Sunday, which is a great way to get a head start on Spring Cleaning.  Once you've gathered the clothes that, sadly, will never fit again (I have clothes in my closet that just hang there, tormenting me because they're 3 sizes smaller than I'll ever be again), and once you've bagged the clothes your mutant kids grew out of after wearing them for a mere 3 weeks, you can donate the new, gently used or vintage items to The Thrifty Hog, a charity thrift store in Chelsea that supports NYC’s homeless mothers and their children.

I'm late and not in New York but this was fantastic. KT had a classmate to lose everything in a fire. We cleaned out his closet so the young man could continue to come to school, It was a perfect teachable moment in my home.
