Our Weekend In The Hamptons, Or Thank Goodness For Friends

Theo went to the beach for the very first time this weekend!  My good friend Erin has a summer rental out in the Hamptons and Theo and I went out there for a long weekend with her and her 2 year old daughter, Sky.  It was hilarious to see Theo's first reaction to walking on so much sand - he did NOT like it!  He wasn't sure about getting in the water either.  This was Friday.  By Sunday I couldn't get him off the beach!  I have several great pics of our weekend:

but this is definitely my favorite one:

My friend Erin, knowing that I have had a truly challenging year, made it a point to get Theo and I out to her house for some much-needed relaxation.  I didn't have to do a thing but enjoy my time there.  She took care of everything.  I am so truly grateful for friendship.  This year my friends have babysat my son when I needed to run to the hospital for my mother; cooked a meal or two and brought it to me when they knew I was running on empty; helped me move to a new apartment; listened to me cry, rant and vent a lot; and above all else, have reminded me that I am a phenomenal mom and woman, even when I can't see that at that particular moment.
Thank goodness for friends.

Men and come and go, and not all family are friends, but true friends, just can't be beat! I always say my friends are the sisters I didn't get by nature! Glad you and Theo had a good time, long overdue and much deserved!

Hi I'm a new blog follower! Looks like you had an amazing time! And you're right, friends are so important especially when you don't have that support from a significant other. They're what helps keep you going! Since I don't know you personally I can only comment from what I see but you appear to be a PHENOMENAL mom so keep reminding yourself of that!
