I would never have made it in the circus.
Despite all of the child-like dreams of "running away and joining the circus", I would never have made it. I stink at juggling. Multi-tasking just makes me feel scatter-brained at times.
Trying to balance my work as a Mom, Writer, and well, just being ME, seems to be just a tad bit overwhelming. Like yesterday, when I was busy trying to pack up all the things needed for a day out with my son, a friend and her daughter, while getting my son to put his hat on and get in the stroller, and I called someone I needed to meet because he had some papers to give me. I then set the phone down as I noticed a huge wet spot on the futon, and rushed over to investigate it and forgot all about the fact that I had called him. So here I am, having this whole conversation with my friend about this guy, not realizing that the call had gone through and he was siting there listening to every word we were saying about him! Good thing what I was saying was only MINIMALLY embarrassing because I then had to walk over and meet him 10 minutes later! Ugh. Lol.
I need a personal assistant. Let her multi-task.

I so understand. This morning, I was just trying to make it out the door by 8:45. I didn't make it until 9, and all I had to do was bath myself, the baby, feed the dog, pack the baby's bag for daycare all while chatting with my mom on the phone. It didn't go so well.
Hahaha! That's too funny! But I have to admit, its not that I'm necessarily GOOD at multi-tasking, its just that I'm soooo accustomed to a zillion things going on at once, that when things are slow and quite - that's when I can't think straight! Especially on the computer - I always have at least 6 windows open at once and when everything is minimized and there's a nice clean desktop in frontof me - forget it! I lose it!
But then again, I have had the unfortunate experience a few times of instant messaging to the wrong person - ABOUT that person! Very very very embarrassing!
LOL Did you confirm that he was listening and heard??? And just so you know, I could totally be the Jennifer Hudson to your Carrie Bradshaw.
That's mortifying and sounds like something that would happen to me.

My brother say's there is no such thing as Multi Tasking, hmmm he doesn't have kids so what does he know, right? Anywho, you just keep doing the best you can with the time you have:)

I've been the recipient of such calls...usually, it just makes you chuckle. We've all done it. Except for the time a close friend put the phone down but not entirely...I shouted down the phone to tell her as it meant I couldn't call out but then I heard her say to her husband "what a mug...she'll do anything!" and then they both laughed. This is after I said I'd take her kids for the weekend after she told me she had to just get away from it all. I had three babies under two at the time but was desperate to help her as she seemed so stressed. Sad day... Look at me, bringin' the mood down! *L* It was a looong time ago and I sent her her Karma Just Desserts....oooh yes, my friends, Karma got her and her little dog too! (Um...only kidding, dog lovers...)
